How it Works
Who is Eligible?
Students are selected by their high school, during the junior year,
to participate in Early College for ME. If you
are interested,
check with your high school guidance officer.
To be selected, a student must be—
1. A junior in good standing and a responsible member of
the school community;
2. A Maine resident for at least one year before entering the
first year at a Maine Community College;
3. Upon acceptance into college, able to attend college full
time (minimum of 12 credit hours per semester) for
consecutive semesters
in a program of study; and
4. Capable of succeeding in college but having no plans yet
for college.
In addition, schools may also take into consideration your financial need and whether you
would be the first member of your family to attend college.
How to Apply
Once selected, interested students fill out the
one-page application and have it signed by their parent or guardian.
The Early College for ME application serves as the students
scholarship and early college course application.
